Power Inquiry Conference - May 6

We have long considered that the main underlying problem in British politics is that victorian political systems just don't work in today's world and power needs to be re-balanced towards the citizens. We welcomed the Power Inquiry's report and are pleased to announce that they are holding a conference on 6 May:

POWER TO THE PEOPLE CONFERENCE
Saturday 6th May 2006, 9.30am-4.30pm
Queen Elizabeth II Centre, London, SW1P 3EE

If any readers are planning to attend, please let us know as we would like people to cover this event for us and it might be a good opportunity for Blairwatch readers and contributors to meet each other. In addition the organisers are looking for stewards

The conference is to be addressed by David Cameron and Ming Campbell, with Blair and Brown turning down invitations.

We do think that the Power Inquiry is one of the most positive things happening in politics at the moment and hope that Blairwatch readers will get involved.

What a surprise that Blair

What a surprise that Blair and Brown don't want to come! I would very much like to attend, I agreed with just about everything said in the Power Inquiry and I think Baroness Kennedy is a real star (I wish there were more people like her in politics). Thanks for the reminder, I hadn't looked at the Power website for a while. Please feel free to get in touch.

Hi Davide, neither Ringverse

Hi Davide,

neither Ringverse or myself can make it, but we were hoping others could write about the conference (and we'd love some audio) on their blogs or here.

It might also be a good opportunity for our readers and contributors to meet and get to know each other.

I'll give the recording a

I'll give the recording a go. Trouble is a lack of kit really. I'll see what I can do with my mobile phone and little MP3 player. That failing, I'll give a more general report on my blog. If I can get together with others, then the work can be divided maybe.

I've been making my way

I've been making my way through the report and nodding my head vociferously. I'm really looking forward to Saturday. I can't record audio, but I will put pen to paper and write up about it afterward. It would be good to meet up with you.
