As far as I understand it, copyright infringements are civil law and not criminal law. No bloggers will be locked up.

In infringement cases, plaintiffs are awarded damages amounting to what they would have lost, if the rights had not been pirated.

Craig Murray is not selling fake Levi Jeans nor pirated copies of i-Tunes mp3s, nor selling anything at all, let alone anything that had any commercial value.

The Music Industry is very bright about copyright laws - the Performing Rights Society in particular - but even they are not able to prosecute cases of lending music to another individual for no commercial gain.

I think this is huff and puff. But what do I know.

Glad to see they've taken the Spycatcher affair to heart. This looks even dumber to me as they can't claim the materials are secret and as we saw before they won't be able to get them 'unpublished' in foreign jurisdictions, let alone from all the places on the Internet they're currently being copied.

If ministers want to spend taxpayers money on looking stupid and inevitably boosting the sales of the book then I think they should be surcharged for it like local councillors can be if they misuse public money.

As for safety in numbers, I hope ..er...ten websites is enough....I am reminded that after the fall of the Paris Commune in 1871 the authorities managed to shoot, execute, imprison or transport to French penal colonies at least twenty thousand irritating dissenters.

Copydude, it depends where you are. Certainly here in Hong kong copyright infringement is criminal thanks to the influence of big business.

This is much better than bittorrent for simple access as I could not find anyone online with the files available. And it's much safer than putting it on your own server. All you are doing is linking to an anonymous file hosting link from another server.

I will continue to add to other anonymouse file hosters. Others are welcome too as well.
