Has Anyone Seen The Lord?

Well, he is the British Government Middle East envoy so naturally he's in the Middle East. Wonder if he'll be coming back? He has one of the plushest houses in Tel Aviv, hardly a holiday home.

When is Levy due back? It does look like he's in Tel Aviv coordinating Tony with the Israeli government... something he's certainly done before...

Can you thionk of anything more strange than putting a jew with Israeli interests in as a Middle East diplomat?

How on earth will the Arab nation accept anything he does or says without a massive dose of cynicism? He is also a great friend of (yep, you guessed it) Ehud Olmert.

Israel has extradition treaties (sic) with exactly one other country, no prizes for guessing which one, and even that is non-binding in a legal sense, and only names 31 crimes that it is applicable for.

I suppose when you have Mossad willing to execute foriegn nationals and kidnap foriegn citizens you don't need a treaty with anyone.

This is the 'beacon' of democracy and civilisation that gets the unconditional support of all western governments.

Can anyone explain how "Lord" Levy is accountable to the citizens of the UK? How do we go about finding out what he has been doing, what his instructions were, whether they fit in with stated UK policy, whether he has been working with the FCO or at cross-purposes? The very fact that we don't know what the PM's special envoy to the Middle East is doing as the Middle East goes up in flames is very disturbing.

Apparently Levy, Campbell and Cameron have collectively discovered the secret of invisibility. Levy never left the country, it's just that nobody can see him any more.

As for the party leaders, they too have been able to disappear entirely without a trace. Though Ming did manage to turn up on the radio this morning (don't need to visible for that btw) only to fall for exactly the same routine as before:

Gordon Brown is said to be very interested in these developments as he only has the power to make himself temporarily invisible. Though as that's whenever anything goes wrong for Labour it's currently most of the time anyway.

I object to this: "a jew with Israeli interests". The fact that he claims to be jewish is neither here nor there. I think he should be judged by his actions in supporting the zionist regime in Tel Aviv rather than his religion.

I think pointing out Levy's faith is valid in this context, after all it is the Israeli Government which has recently called on all Jews everywhere to fully support the Israeli government's actions.

I would understand your objections if the use of the word 'jew' was gratuitous but Olmert's statements of recent weeks have (unfortunately) tied Israeli ambitions to Jewish ones.

Prehaps you should consider objecting to the Israeli governemnt in this case.

Well isn't he Jewish? Aren't there pro-Israel war marches headed by Jewish figures. I think this it's the third time they've "bombed Lebanon back twenty years".

While the state of Israel was winning the propaganda war (and not the moral one) I rarely heard any Jewish figures speak out but now the tides have turned and all of a sudden Sachs develops a conscience.

I think Levy should move to Israel and stay there if only for crimes against music.

For example Walter Wolfgang was a guest on Newsnight last week as part of a three person panel.

He got two sentences in (demanding an immediate ceasefire) before the presenter curtailed his comments and then proceeded to carry on for the next 5 mins addressing only the other two guests.

Poor Walter had to sit their in silence being totally ignored.

Guess what, I'm part Jewish too. My Grandfather fled Austria, in the late 1930s...
