Could We Become The Official Labour Blogger?
Posted August 9th, 2006 by quarsan
The Labour Party is offering an up and coming blogger access to this year's Party Conference in Manchester from 24 - 28 of September.
You’ll be given access to all the key speeches and events at Conference and you’ll be blogging from the floor about your experiences...
... We will pick the best, the most innovative and the freshest entry before announcing the winner on Friday 8 September. So good luck and send us a blog! - source
Could people help us write the application? Please try to be serious, we really do want to blog from the conference. We know that there's no chance at all that they'll take us - expect them to pick a tame blog, probably by someone young and inexperieced, or a New Labour newbie with ambition.
We could give more honest reporting and analysis, so we do want to try.

Maybe we could set up a spoof blog for Nu Labour to check out if we apply. One that fawns over their every utterance, a bit like Fourth Term or Bloggers 4 Labour. Then spring the surprise at the conference.

Hmmm, good luck guys. I applied, but somehow can't see myself getting anywhere. Might be worth doing a alternative blog from the conference, just to show the other side of the story.
How about getting support
How about getting support from the increasing number of MPs loyal to the Party rather than Blair? Circulate amongst them and ask if they'd sponsor us?
Hi There, We're interested
Hi There,
We're interested in applying for the opportunity to be blogging from the Labour conference.
However we do have a couple of questions to ask you first:
1, Are you looking for an independent voice or someone who in 'on message'?
2, Are you offering exclusive access or are there going to be more than one blogger chosen?
3, If so what range of viewpoints are you looking for?
4, Will there be opportunities for video/audio blogging?
5, What access will we have to delegates, MP's etc and will we have editorial freedom?
If you could give some indications on your thinking on these points we'll make a serious application.
yours,

I think that covers all the bases. I bet they'll want to look at what gets blogged, control freaks that they are. I can just imagine Hazel Blears making 'helpful suggestions'.
