2006 Stupid Security Awards
Stupid security has become a global menace. From the airport that this month emptied out a full plane because a passenger was drinking from a lemonade bottle, to the British schools that fingerprint their children to “stop†the theft of library books, to the airline company that refused to allow passengers to bring books or magazines onto the plane, the world has become infested with bumptious administrators competing to hinder or harass us - and often for no good reason whatever.
The sensitive and sensible folk at Privacy International have endured enough of this treatment. So we are running an international competition to discover the world's most pointless, intrusive, stupid and self-serving security measures.

What a good idea! I just
What a good idea! I just nominated Luton airport security for the confiscation of Craig Murray's book "Murder in Samarkand". That story seemed to fit all the categories. It wouldn't surprise me if someone had nominated it already. If I think of any more I'll send them in.

The Evil doers? or the real people who want to save this country?
How did Britain, a country with thousands of years of History get caught sleeping and taken over like this? Hook, Line and Sinker. Total media control, total financial control, total intellectual and thought/perception control over an entire people with a rich History.
Is that the sign of wise and intelligent 'British' minds at the top?

What has happened to Britain as a 'Global Brand Name' internationally around the Earth over the past five years?
Why has been trashed and destroyed and rubbed into the dirt?
Do these people love Britain? I think not. Do they want to use and control Britain for their own interests? Most definitely so.
What will you answer to your grandchildren about 911? How will justify this massive lie to them that Britain went along with? How will you explain to them that the media was under control and the country was Forced into a perpetual cycle of War?
Did YOU try and stop it? Or did you let it happen, turn a blind eye, and selfishly leave it for your grandchildren to deal with?

Pilots also had to undergo checks and one security officer objected to a fork that was in a packed lunch.
Pilot replies: "Why would I attack myself with a fork when there's a perfectly good sharp axe provided on the flight deck? If you don't trust me, why let me fly the plane?"
