CIA Prisoners to be covered by Geneva Convention

ABC News is reporting that Bush is going to announce that rendition prisoners in secret CIA prisons are to get the protection of the Geneva Convention.

Confirmed: BBC Story

Now, will Tony be around long enough for us to ask him how many of these prisoners travelled via the UK?

Ah, note the "CIA prisons"

Ah, note the "CIA prisons" bit. Those flown by CIA Torture Air to Uzbekistan to immersed in boiling water in their prisons, well, those aren't CIA prisons, now are they?

surely, this now puts TB

surely, this now puts TB into a corner, he was putting his leadership on the line in Parliament and is quotes as saying there is no evidence, so there are non?
Ooops Blair. another problem there ? it's all unravelling fast

It's amazing to think that

It's amazing to think that when we used to watch question time there would be shakes telling us how Britain was different, how you could "smell the freedom the moment you stepped off the plane". How things have changed.

This government will scare rich Arabs away from investing in Britain if they carry on like this. We had a great relationship with them before this country turned in to a fascist hate mob. I bet the numerous ambassadors in countries like Pakistan and India weren't looking over their shoulder every time they left the embassy but they are now. These "terrorists" didn't burn the American flag for nothing and they are burning ours now.

We didn't have much going for us but we did have freedom of speech and diversity, now we can't say Israel is a terrorist state or anti-zionism. I noticed how the jewish MP's and the 'friends of Israel' mob have been supporting the murder of children but not our freedom of speech. In fact they are trying to suppress it, what a joke. We can call Tony a war criminal or nulabour a bunch of warmongers but when we criticize the zionist movement that's nazi talk.

Have a read about the contradictory Anti-Defamation League and the unprecedented powers they have to censor the internet. Why do they get special treatment? When does racism not become racism and become anti-semitism? Why are we subjected to Arab/Muslim bashing headlines every day and nobody says a word but when you ask how the Palestinians ended up starving and living in squallor and why we boycotted a democratically elected government (Hamas) and inflicted collective financial punishment through the EU and why Israel decided to start collecting their revenue and starving them in to submission we get labelled a sympathiser. This is madness.

What does the BBC headline say today? Yup you guesed it Anti-Semitism. Bollocks to this. The muslims have had the floor wiped with their reputation, their mosques are under constant surveillance and the press can even villify their religion. This is bollocks, this is not where we were ten years ago. Trial by media using the actions and beliefs of a few to smear the masses.

Note, anti-Zionism is not anti-semitism and this is because blaming all jews for the actions of a few discriminate racist nutters is wrong. Now anti-zionism is being tied in with anti-semitism and this is bollocks. When it comes to the Muslims however anything goes. Human shields, terrorists, preachers of hate and these are headlines.

Shame on our government for hyping this up and sending muslims to torture camps. When will this stop, this is shameful behaviour and we are the victims too. Police state where you better be a euro-muslim or we'll deport you for criticising our foreign policy.

The media, the police and the courts have become a single minded machine capable of anything. I saw a documentary on Barry George the other night and it turns out he was probably innocent and his trial was a joke. He was a simpleton who had some previous and they probably picked his name off a database and said he'll do. Terrorism is a booming industry, check out how much these security firms earn now.

Screw this. People are leaving Britain at unprecedented rates and who can blame them. It was worth putting up with the weather before but now I'm searching for reasons to stay.

I read this in the times:

Last week we were in a taxi after an evening out with friends when the driver who had recently arrived from Iran, informed us that "the UK is going to the dogs and there would only be another tolerable 10 years here before the social, political and economic fabric which made it great was totally destroyed." Bitterly ironic, but true nonetheless.
