Blair - Latest

Today, there began a co-ordinated resignation of Tom Watson (who's finally come out of the Brownite closet - read his Blog post/job application of 28 August) and a few low rankers. At this point one more resignation would have ended Blair.

Just after this Gordon Brown was spotted skulking out of the back door of Number Ten. Then everything stopped.

Tomorrow Blair's going to make an announcement. Should be interesting. Tonight the best he can drag out to support him is Keith Vaz!

Meanwhile I've asked Tom Watson why he resigned. He agrees with the policy, proclaims his loyalty and then says: I no longer believe that your remaining in office is in the interest of either the party or the country. How and why this situation has arisen no longer matters.

But it does matter. Go on Tom, explain exactly why you resigned, or tell us what Gordon promised you.

Meanwhile on Fantasy Island Bullshitters 4 Blair think there's nothing happening, it's all Nick Robinson's fault... and you thought Blair was deluded...

Hmm. Been pondering this.

Hmm. Been pondering this. Clearly Watson and co. effectively martyred themselves; signing up to the letter as they did was inviting the sack, which duly arrived (resignation my arse). So they've got themselves the gratitude of Brown and Blair gets the 'crisis' headlines and a few more people outside the tent pissing in (Straw, Clarke...).

What I'm interested in now are 1) the reported busting row between the two best buddies in Number 10 and 2) where John Reid is. The Arse Doctor must know that Brown believes there's room for just one Scottish alpha male in the cabinet, viz. himself, and thus his choice is fight or kiss goodbye to top-level politics.

Possibly current events have one eye on sticking the kybosh on Reid's recent self-publicity before he gets into credible successor territory.

Nice to see Blunkett back on the radio. Not.

So, what will you call this

So, what will you call this blog after Blair is gone.

Better start planning now!

NuBlairwatch ? As a first

NuBlairwatch ? As a first idea title for Post-Blair blairwatch .

OR, how about , "www.poodlewatch.co.uk" ? Better already.

Whatever, we might try to prepare the Dear Leader's LEGACY by incorporating his name firmly into the language, as Dr Spooner's was.

Any polly manifesting their 'sincerity' and 'christianity' in public will be described as 'blairing'.

Any initiatives obviously cobbled up late at nite, and jotted down on the back of an envelope (or fag-packet) will be described by the pundits as blair-like.

And any statement which the

And any statement which the speaker sincerely believes, but is the only one who can see the truth/logic of, will be blairingly obvious.

If Gordon the Brooding does

If Gordon the Brooding does succeed. the blog can probably be renamed Emigration Watch.

Anyone covered in oleagenous political lickspittle can be well and truly "blaired"

If TB was in a strong

If TB was in a strong position within NuLabor he should sack GB for all these treacherous going ons.
Vice versa if GB was the great statesman he tries to kid us he is. He should have left number 10 with TB's resignation letter in his back pocket.
So it looks like we are in for another interesting day of back-stabbing, double-dealing spin.
Great entertainment from where I sit, but is it really good for this country?
I think it is time for the Queen to dis-solve this government and announce a new general election.
It would be nice to see GB as the leader of NuLabor - shadow leader!
Meanwhile where is old fatty cocktail sausage whilst this is all happening?

There's a dearth of any

There's a dearth of any comment from the political heavyweights - Brown, Prescott, Reid, Blears (only joking, I'm sure Hazel's turned up somewhere).

Besides, I think the country can use a month free from insane and unworkable initiatives.

Don't others get the feeling

Don't others get the feeling that I do?

This nonsense about 'succession' is a clear indicator that those in governance over us are not even remotely concerned what we, the People, require of a Government - rather they further the feathering of their own nests!

It's time for a general election!

I think we should keep Blair

I think we should keep Blair Watch - that way we can become part of his legacy.

Just looked at B4L and

Just looked at B4L and agree: Blairwatch's criticism of B4L is completely beneath them, mainly because this site actually performs a useful function as opposed to the rather bland and superficial rubbish found on there. As a first-time reader I was expecting a coming-out-fighting on-message Labour blog but was instead charmed by the article on the 'free trade wristbands' (how about "I export my used crap to poor countries" wristband as well, you could wear one on either wrist as a neat demonstration of exactly how fucked these countries are) and also by the article that compared Gillian Anderson and Stephanie Flanders. All far more important than the increasing gulf between reality and the right-wing Blair project. Describing the comments on the war-criminal-in-chiefs actions over Iraq as 'muck' was also equally useful. Could they try and engage with current events and perhaps write a defense of the pressure being put on Tony and his cronies and maybe offer an explanation of why exactly the wheels have come off so badly? I'm sure I will be hugely entertained. I mean, for fuck's sake, why spend your time supporting the incumbent overlords for chrissakes? Surely the establishment doesn't require or request their support and I can't for a moment believe they actually think the slow slide to fascism we're experiencing at the moment is a good thing? Oh no... they don't think it's a good thing... do they?

It'll be ReidWatch. The way

It'll be ReidWatch.
The way The Sun shines on him he's already in Murdo's pocket.
"ReidWatch". Tankie will order it and you will obey.
