Actually, it's worth anyone's while reading MD in the current Private Eye (the medical column) which contrasts the different ways the NHS is organised in Wales and Scotland (and NI for that matter). It's only really England that's gone barking right-wing neo-liberal crazy, the Scottish Executive (which is LD/Lab) is a lot redder than Tony and co. This extends to transport and education, too.

Hence rather than us Southerners shunning Scots, it's probably worthwhile examining what they're doing right up there. You can see why they don't want Tony Blair dragging them down into the mire next May. Mind you, a Scottish someone called Anne Moffat was talking absolute garbage about 'huge majorities' and the 'best PM ever' on the World at One today. What's her record like?

Less of the anti-Scottish sniping? Over recent years it seems almost compulsory for the Scots and Welsh to slag off the English even though you all still beneift hugely from the Union (so much more than we English do). If you can't take it you shouldn't dish it out.

Also, I'll just point out a largely forgotten fact. The present Labour government was imposed on us by the Scots and the Welsh who have their own government and assembly. The Conservatives WON in England last time round, but because Labour have spent the last few years gerrymandering and changing the constituencies the Conservatives can only win a UK General Election with a 10% + lead on the day!

What happened to "democracy" ? Mugabe would be proud of a record like that.

With all the resources of the BBC at his disposal, including I'm sure many competent translators of Farsi to English, I HAVE NOT THE SLIGHTEST DOUBT that he could have checked this out.

Maybe the man is stoopid and incompetent, a propagandist repeating rubbish, so WHY did he seem to attempt to cover to cover himself by adding "allegedly" ?

One small word.

There is serious doubt about the translation of what Ahmedinejihad ACTUALLY said. Right around the world, this "statement" of intent is being used , repetitively scores of times every day in the Media to further demonise the already unpleasant Iranian Government .

I recommend anyone (if anyone !) reading this to check it out.

Compared to what may be the NEXT WAR, parochial discussion of who will replace the loathed Blair, and when, are minor issues.
