The Madness of King Tony

Writing in a pamphlet for the Foreign Policy Centre (Patron T Blair), Tony develops his recent theme of Global Alliance for Global Values. In it he sticks the boot into anyone who annoys his boss saying that anyone who has anti-American feelings is 'mad'.

Tony thinks global values is a new idea, but they've been around in such concepts as International Law, Human Rights, and others pioneered by the UN. Tony's Global Values seems to be more and more military invasion, backed up by Guantanamo Bay, rendition, secret prisons, torture, dropping bunker busters on apartment blocks and cluster bombs on towns and villages.

The problem is that Tony's calling for an alliance of moderates to fight extremism... while standing shoulder to shoulder with the right of sensible Neo-Cons. You can't have both Tony. It doesn't work:

Most M.E. leaders say Iraq was a disaster for the region
Nobody'd daft enough to send troops to the bodged mission in Afghanistan
Can you blame them?

Still, at least Iraq has been a success - at least for Iran it has...

As for Lebanon, I earlier asked why Tony couldn't ask for a ceasefire and a UN resolution. A complementary approach, I thought. Now Kim Howells admits that not pursuing this strategy was a mistake.

A mistake? When I nip down to the supermarket and forget my shopping list; thats a mistake. This is an entirely different order of magnitude. Let's listen to someone we respect:

The Liverpool MP Peter Kilfoyle, a former defence minister, said: "There's no doubt that a dual approach would have been the right thing to do both morally and in terms of what is in the country's interest. It's clear to see, if only because of what has been shown during the Blair visit to the Lebanon, that our approach has devalued our standing in the region."

This is why Tony has to go
He's just not acting in the country's best interests. The job of a British Premier is not to provide political cover for whoever is in the White House, but to act for Britain. In this, he has been an utter failure.

Great Britain's standing has never been lower, because of Blair's support for invading Iraq, rendition, Guantanamo and all the rest of the Neo-con agenda. In the Middle East we are loathed, in Asia sidelined, in Europe we're ignored - and remember Blair promised to put us in the heart of Europe and led the worst EU Presidencies in living memory, and in America we're patronised by the Republicans.

What foreign policy success has Blair had? What has he done to improve Britain's standing in the world? None and nothing.

In his speech we have a

In his speech we have a perfect example of rhetoric the opposite of his actions, viz:

"We need to construct an alliance of moderation that paints a future in which Muslim, Jew and Christian, Arab and Western, wealthy and developing nations can make progress in peace and harmony with each other."

This has become SO common in politics this decade (maybe it's always been so). Polis SAY one thing and MEAN the opposite.

"we need to contruct" = "we intend to impose"
"an alliance" = "hegemony"
"moderation" = "our ways"
"paints a future" = "determines the future"
"in which Muslim ... each other" = "in which we will have total control of all Muslims, Arabs and developing nations"

“What foreign policy success has Blair had? What has he done to improve Britain's standing in the world? None and nothing.”
It’s FAR worse than that. bLiar has handed over sovereignty (in more than just foreign policy) to the global bully. He HAS committed treason!

He may be right on one score. We ARE mad for tolerating this.

and the UN inspectors are

and the UN inspectors are MAD to disagree with his holiness.

The Extradition Act 2003 was written by a foreign power (The U.S.) surely it is a serious offence indeed to allow a foreign power to write UK law.

I am proud to be mad, but my

I am proud to be mad, but my madness only extends to a certain neo-con cabal that has turned American from being the shining light of freedom to the world, into the suppressor of human rights all over the world.
The poddle in his slavish and unquestioning following of this cabal's dictates has dragged this country down into the mire.
Can anyone name a success the poddle has had in foreign policy?
The poddle has been a traitor to the best interests of this country. Failed to stand up for the rights of British citizens (and they ask us to pay for ID cards!) where they have conflicted with the interests of his masters.
Spilled British blood needlessly in the pursuit of his follies.
Now we have Gordimmo telling us he will continue the poddles policies!
Another traitor in the making?

Apparently the Poles have

Apparently the Poles have volunteered to send another 1,000 troops...but not until next year.

As regards Blair, he obviously still doesn't realise that it's anti-Bush sentiment driving the criticisms, or it's just easier for him to conflate everything into one convenient lump: arc of extremism, anti-Americanism, old Labour...I'm sure he'll make a speech connecting all three - and more - soon (probably at the party conference).

It's interesting how TB

It's interesting how TB talks more and more about "values" but continues to avoid like the plague any discussion of international law, which is supposed to be an institutional embodiment of those values. It's also interesting how he tries to imply that, because of our values, we should slavishly follow the USA. My contacts in the USA who take a great interest in American values tell me two things:-

1. There are big internal differences in the US about values, and there is a big struggle going on between the neo-cons ("we have to give the President more powers so as to defend American values") and critics ("a President whose powers are limited by the Constitution is an integral part of American values")

2. There are values expressed by some groups in the USA that just don't correspond to anything in Europe. There are fairly mainstream views in the US about issues such as guns, or planning, or the right to consume, that are marginal in the UK (or Europe in general).

I suspect that TB will use this "values" rtheme a lot when he gets going on the American rubber-chicken circuit. We all need to develop a more solid critique of this.

The evil little traitor

The evil little traitor (ELT) is practicing for his new role (as we predicted on our website in 2003) in the Bush Crime Syndicate (Carlyle Group). This is emerging as the front for much lucrative business generated from skank hegemony.

The skanks already have the view that the only 'law' is their law. Our (British and European) well tried traditions and laws are seen as irrelevant and a distraction. Petty things like the Geneva Convention, Habeas corpus and lawful extradition are no longer part of skank "new-law".

Remember they are very new to the whole business of law and have NO history or tradition to speak of. Their desire to rule the world requires that they impose their own new-law on everyone else.

Bliar, as their agent, has secretly, under false pretences and through deception sought to bring the UK under US rule and this new-law. Apart from the 'common criminal' aspects of this (he is being paid for it and therefore has 'obtained money by deception') there is a clear case of TREASON to answer.

As more people like Ms Short realise they have been duped, the tide will turn. The ELT WILL hang and his accomplices will go to prison.

"The reality is that none of

"The reality is that none of the problems that press in on us can be resolved or even contemplated without them (the USA)".

Well, he's right on that, given that the vast majority of those problems have either been caused by the present US administration or hugely exacerbated by its policies. If the USA does disengage the rest of the world will be left to clean up its crap and pay for the damage. However, wishing to hold the US administration to account is different from Blair's wish to have GWB's babies.
