"And yet according to a UK Ministry of Defence poll in August 2005, 82 per cent of Iraqis were “strongly opposed“ to the presence of coalition troops, with 45 per cent feeling that attacks on the coalition were justified. (Chomsky, op. cit, p.164) "

"On the eve of the January 2005 elections in Iraq, Scott Peterson and Dan Murphy reported in the Christian Science Monitor: “the one thing every Iraqi agrees upon is that occupation should end soon”.

But this, it was noted, was an outcome that would conflict directly with the US objective of constructing “a US-friendly democracy that would allow America to replace its military presence in Saudi Arabia... with one in Iraq that would allow America to keep shaping the regional balance of power”. (Peterson and Murphy, Christian Science Monitor, January 28, 2005)
"

On this point I refer you to the 100 acre 'Embassies' the Americans are building in Iraq, thinly disguised as airbases.

From globalresearch.ca

"The message is clear. Indeed, it's gigantic for all Iraqis, for the entire world to see. A 100 acre compound – ten times the size of the typical U.S. embassy, the size of 80 football fields, six times larger than the UN, the size of Vatican City. The U.S. Embassy Compound, in the middle of Baghdad – the center for U.S. domination of the Middle East and its resources"

"Brig. Gen. Mark Kimmitt, deputy chief of operations for the coalition in Iraq, told the Chicago Tribune in March 2004: “This is a blueprint for how we could operate in the Middle East.” Zoltan Grossman, a geographer at Evergreen State College in Olympia, Wash., told the Christian Science Monitor that since the fall of the Berlin Wall in 1989, the U.S. has established a string of 35 new bases between Poland and Pakistan, not including the Iraqi bases. He maintains that the U.S. is establishing a “sphere of influence” in that region. Joseph Gerson, author of The Sun Never Sets: Confronting the Network of Foreign U.S. Military Bases, also says the war and bases aim at maintaining U.S. control over the Middle East with its massive oil resources."

"According to Global Security Watch, on March 23, 2004 “it was reported that 'U.S. engineers are focusing on constructing 14 enduring bases,' long-term encampments for the thousands of American troops expected to serve in Iraq for at least two years. The U.S. plans to operate from former Iraqi bases in Baghdad, Mosul, Taji, Balad, Kirkuk and in areas near Nasiriyah, near Tikrit, near Fallujah and between Irbil and Kirkuk... enhance airfields in Baghdad and Mosul...'”"

We are helping to kill Iraqis to secure a forward base to stage even more illegal wars on behalf of Corporate America.

Well it's a nice enough

Well it's a nice enough poster but it's a shame that there's no mention of Afghanistan.

There is a risk that this

There is a risk that this movement may be seen as an Islam-based protest.

The message must be CLEAR. Most British people abhor the current UK regime's foreign policies. We think the main issue of contention is bLiar's treason in handing over foreign policy to the hostile bush crime gang.

A clear message from this protest must be that the people of GB demand that OUR government sever its tawdry, corrupt relationship with the global bully.

JK5 are all (5) white, anglo saxons and we have no connection whatever to Islam or any commercial interest in the middle east. We are angry that our government has betrayed the British people and that its leaders appear to be getting away with treason.

same here, im white, middle

same here, im white, middle class and very p*ssed off. my friends and i will be attending. we are not muslims, extremists or anything else. we are just i suppose decent hardworking people as the daily mail would call us.

it is a flaw of muslim groups who believe that there is some war against muslims that the west is leading. there isnt. its not about religion, its about oil! talk about falling into the labelling trap.

True, strategic control of

True, strategic control of fossil fuel and mineral resources is the main purpose of the invasion of the Middle East. The justification given for this is to civilise the uncivilised with western style democracy. It also suits the rulers to portray muslims as 5th columnists, preparing to spread mayhem through our society. The media always show the crazies, the protest groups, the militants, they never show the ordinary joes who constitute the vast majority of the religion.
