Do Not Question Your Leaders

Ask no questions citizen. I can understand why Blair doesn't want an inquiry into a disaster that makes Suez look like a picnic, but they're really scraping the barrel for excuses...

We can't have an inquiry We have troops who are operating in the field of combat. We have an enemy who is looking for any sign of weakness at all, any sign of a loss of resolution or determination. The important thing is that we do not give any signal that we are anything less than fully determined to see the job through."

Seeing the job through? Pity Bush has just dropped the slogan Stay the course - perhaps Tony's not had his new instructions yet.

Seeing the job through? Perhaps that's why they closed the Consulate in Basra.

The poodle is afraid that the cat will finally be let out of the bag over his deceitful conduct, and the lack of planning, that has led us into this mess.
Unfortunately the poodle does not live in the real world, where the majority of us know the truth.
His latest excuses are those of a drowning man clutching at straws.
He fails to see that by having an inquiry, we are signalling to our enemies the strength of our democracy.

And anyone who uses the

And anyone who uses the argument that this undermines the morale of armed forces personnel serving in Iraq / Afghan does not know the UK Armed Forces. They would like to know why they are still being killed, why they are still short of kit and why they get continuous operational tours with no time with families (for a below average salary). I suspect that a sound spanking administered to our own dear leader by Parliament would do much to lift troops morale !

Iraqi resistance fighter: "Instead of sniping Yanks and laying IEDs, I've been glued to the Beeb all day, watching that crucial House of Commons vote to see if there's an inquiry into why Blair invaded my country. And if he loses the vote, I tell you, that's a sign of weakness, a sign they're not resolute and they're losing their determination. Then, and only then, will I know they have lost the 'battle for hearts and minds'".

Just what planet is Blair living on?
