Democrats Webb in Virginia and McCaskill in Missouri just declared victory. Republican Burns in Montana is going down. This means the Dems will retake both houses.
I expect the worst of the neo-fascist neocon excesses will now start being rolled back and Lady Liberty will no longer fear being waterboarded.
Are most Congressional Dems still warmongers? Well sure. But something fundamental shifted in America tonight.
Tony & Gordon are going to
Tony & Gordon are going to be out on a limb now that their master has had his arse whipped like this.

It will be interesting to
It will be interesting to see how Blair reacts if, as is being reported, there is a series of inquiries into the Iraq war, torture etc. Britain's role is bound to come up in such investigations.
PHEW! What a relief.
PHEW! What a relief.
bush, cheyney and rumsfeld
bush, cheyney and rumsfeld have done far too much damage for this to be good news for victims of their foriegn policy.
Iraq will never recover from the 2003 invasion. 600,000+ people dead (and counting) for nothing other than US control of oil. what kind of army launches its most horrific weapons not on another army, but on civilians like you and me?
Israel is now out of control - killing 18 people as they slept last night. Just another in an almost constant stream of atrocities against civilians. what kind of army launches its most horrific weapons not on another army, but on civilians like you and me?

We've had the word "tsumani"
We've had the word "tsumani" on Blairwatch before. Is it some pinko liberal in-joke to which I'm not privy (I'm part of the club but I don't get all the newsletters, you see), or just poor sub-editing?
At some point some
At some point some information will come out about Blair's "summits" with Bush, and these are likely to show how poorly Blair negotiated and how little Blair did to keep Bush within international law or make concessions. However we need to keep a sharp look out and be prepared for when this information emerges: as it deals with one of those sacred cows of the UK political elite, the special relationship (sic), there are likely to be some thick smokescreens thrown up.
Careful what you say about
Careful what you say about Israel anonymous, I've just incurred the wrath of GIYUS over at The Nether-World by daring to mention the fact that the IDF slaughtered 18 people in their beds with tank shells. Israelis seem to be a bit sensitive about that particular atrocity, I guess they were hoping no one would notice.
Here are the % votes &
Here are the % votes & majority for the 2 critical Senate races:

Two nail-biters!

poor sub-editing? We can't
poor sub-editing?
We can't afford sub-editors - my council tax has just gone up 15% (much of it to pay for the Metropolitan Police death squads), so I can barely afford beer and chips.
Tell you what, though, next time polizeros comes over you can club him to death with a good solid heterosexual manly copy of Webster's Dictionary (no longer Morocco bound, of course, as that's way too Islamofascist). That'll settle his pinko liberal ass for him, won't it?
Does "tsunami" not exist
Does "tsunami" not exist into British English? In American English it means tidal wave.
"two countries separated by a common language"?
Update: AHA. I see what happened. I spelled tsunami as tsumani. And have corrected it.
Hey it was 1:30 AM when I posted that.
