Angry Tony's Desperate Attempt to Avoid Prosecution

Davids flirtation with actual debate aside, one propose a logical possibility here. the possibility of the "hand of legal corruption" in all this.

Some do-gooder sees that there is a chance that Tony broke the law (LOL @ chance), and as such, should be prosecuted. Tony, being the maniacal tyrant that he is, predicts he might end up in the soup, so he does what he always does - pervert the course of justice.

After a chummy phone call with Campbell, dearest Tony deliberately sets about setting the wheels in motion to have some pretty petty stuff leak out. As the noose tightens, he then plays his ace - that which we see above i.e. because of the leaks the case against his is unfair. There is not one shred of proof that I know of which confirms this (or otherwise) but I know 'our Tone' is a pathological liar, a genocidal despot and the scum of the earth.

Perilously close perhaps, but not quite there :) I don't think quoting the Telegraph and asking a couple of questions to which I genuinely don't know the answers to is really discussing a conspiracy. Your hypothesis seems quite plausible though, I thought about it as well. Why would the police jeopordise their own investigation? I don't think Yates is that stupid. And why throw this in now when everyone has been following the case?

Maybe he'll give the lawyers a peerage if they get him off...

You really can smell the panic coming out of Downing Street these days, the great thing about it is the longer he stays there the worse it gets for him and his sucessor.

If I was Gordon, I'd let Tony hang on as long as possible. In fact, I'd refuse the job, let someone else take over and fail, then step in after the next (lost) election. It's going to happen anyway...

Of course the Freudian implication is that there are authorised leaks. Well, we already knew that there were. A telling trait of the terrible tenure trumpeted "Tony the tyrannical”, has been the whispering campaigns against former colleagues. With strange information spouting out, primarily for consumption amongst parliamentary circles but sometimes broadening out into the public eye.

The same is true of David Kelly, BEFORE TONY HAD HIM MURDERED.
and as is documented to a greater degree about Craig Murray before TONY OR JACK ISSUED ORDERS TO ASSASSINATE HIM - as according to Murray, he believes an attempt was made on his life.

But Tony and Campbell think they are so damn smart and can get away with it (sadly they do!) so they just keep toying around with Justice, Democracy and Basic Freedoms, (which many of us have long taken for granted) to the point that there even the pretence of it has been flushed down the toilet.

Can someone explain why No.10, an arm of the government, is hiring lawyers and presumably paying for them, to defend Labour Party members for their actions in connection with a party political matter.
