BAE Bosses Named and the FO Comes To The Rescue
Posted January 17th, 2007 by quarsan
The SFO are clearly very angry with Blair for dumping the Saudi/BAE inquiry and have started leaking, with a document naming the BAE bosses accused of corruption, this time in South Africa.
Meanwhile the Foreign Office have responded to yesterday's news that MI6 have refused to sign Blair's dodgy dossier justifying his personal blocking of the BAE/Saudi corruption inquiry:
Late yesterday, the Foreign Office issued a statement saying: "Contrary to the Guardian article, SIS (MI6) shared the concerns of others within government over the possible consequences for the public interest of the SFO investigation."
Hardly a comprehensive denial.
This is a long running story
This is a long running story which should potentially be very interesting. The basic problem though is that it is very much like reading a worn out novel whose plot you already know like the back of your hand. We all know what went on and now we all know at least some of the players in the BAE camp. However, the delusional, possibly insane Blair is no fool. He has effectively reduced Parliament to nothing more than his personal electoral college whilst managing to emasculate our press as well. This leaves him more or less unassailable from the point of view of actually ever being brought to account for the long list unspeakable things he and his toadies have done in our name. Remember the parliamentary debate about whether there should be an inquiry into Iraq ? Shamefully, only twelve labour MP's voted for that option despite tens of others having previously either called for one or having expressed grave misgivings about the whole sorry episode.
I am not expecting any prosecutions any time soon...
"MI6 have refused to sign
"MI6 have refused to sign Blair's dodgy dossier"...
A clear case of sexing down if there ever was one.
