An Inspector Calls... Again

News is just coming out that Tony Blair has been interviewed for a second time by police in relation to the cash for peerages scandal. He was interviewed as a witness and not under caution last Friday but managed to keep it a secret until now because of a news blackout. More details should emerge soon.

I gather from the news that

I gather from the news that it was the Police who requested the news blackout

Kept out of the news until a

Kept out of the news until a 'terror' plot could be found to distract the media. Does he think we're THAT stupid?

Yes...

Ah ha ! Interviewed last

Ah ha ! Interviewed last Friday, and Lord Levy gets arrested earlier this week ! Has Anthony Charles Lynton thrown L.L. to the wolves?

Wasn't it Jeremy Thorpe who said (à propos of Harold Macmillan's night of the long knives) "Greater love hath no man than he who lays down his friends for his life"?

Had to laugh at neil Kinnock

Had to laugh at neil Kinnock on the radio saying the whole inquiry was undermining belief in democracy! Funniest thing since the Sheffield rally.

Angus MacNeil has said the

Angus MacNeil has said the news marked "another bleak first in British politics".

and added...

"It also gives the lie to suggestions coming out of Downing Street that the police have been leaking, because apparently they asked for a news blackout."

I notice he wasnt even on Newsnight the other night, I wonder if the London media will give him the credit and exposure he's due now? If I were the SNP I'd be lobbying the tv studios to get their man on.

it would have come out

it would have come out yesterday if they wanted to use the birmingham thing to cover it up... also, as the first comment also noted, bbc is saying it is the police who has asked for news blackout, and has last night lifted it. i wouldn't have thought that n.10 can get away with pretending that it is the police who asked for the news blackout, given that's the same police that is arresting and interviewing everyone at n.10...

I think what Kinnock really

I think what Kinnock really meant was that it undermines the "Illusion" of democracy.

After all, we know how keen Kinnock is on exposing corruption don't we kids!

"The police requested the

"The police requested the blackout"

Yes?

Why do I doubt even that explanation for the secrecy? Possibly because Mad Tony has a track record of telling porkies even when he has a perfectly acceptable truth.

Hold on! Maybe there's a

Hold on! Maybe there's a perfectly simply explanation!

Maybe Tony got interviewed by the police ... and then simply forget! He sees so many people...

Know I do it all the time...

I had to laugh: Hazel Blears

I had to laugh: Hazel Blears has wibbling on in public about how the cash--for-gongs imbroglio is harming New Labour's public image....well, gag me with a tenfoot spoon! I thought it was the Glorious Leader's zealous adherence to the PFI scam and the illegal invasion/occupation of Iraq which makes New Labour look like a gang of rancid pod-people!

But then I`m not in the bunker, like the Blairista apologist I saw on BBC News24 chuntering on about how no-one's been charged...innocent until proven guilty....blah etc blah. With a tickertape text running beneath quoting Blair as saying that he won't go, you'll all have to put up with me for a while longer yet....just until we get the war going in Iran, Bwah hah hah!

I had to laugh, a dark, gallows laugh.

Um, I was under the

Um, I was under the impression that the reason for the backout was so that Levy didn't get wind of Blair being interviewed, so that Yates et al could put equivalent questions to him and compare answers... hence the arrest.

Maybe my cynicism isn't turned on high enough today, but that seemed pretty obvious :/

Don't get me wrong, the police have given many a blowjob to NuLabor, so are of course suspect, but this one looks like it may actually have some teeth (possibly not the best way of putting it *wince*).

Not on topic, but just

Not on topic, but just testing the water . . .

Who else would like to see Blair actually arrested, by uniformed officer, and dragged out of number 10 into a full-on police car. Also, there could be added irony if the police officer gaurding the door of number 10 was seen to recieve a radio message and just walk inside
, returning with the slimy weasel in cuffs - I have often pondered whether that officer was gaurding Blair from us, or us from Blair.

It was not at No 10. Does anyone really bleeve that Plod could see TB on the premises and no - one know about it ?

Never mind about him being

Never mind about him being arrested and carted off by officers of the Lore, he appears to be well on his way to the rubber room:

"The election "will not be decided by current events," Blair will say. "It will be about whether we have the dynamism, energy, vision and, above all, clear, well-thought-out policies for Britain's future.

"The biggest danger for us electorally is not, in the end, what embarrasses us, but what makes the country think that on the big challenges the country faces, we only have small answers."

Ah right! - yeah, I can just imagine John Major saying to HIS bunch of scandal-dogged halfwits in 1997.

Nurse - the screens!

but what makes the country

but what makes the country think that on the big challenges the country faces, we only have small answers

What, not the *right* answers? I'd have thought that was rather important.

The following is the text of an email I recently sent to Sir Ian Blair.
The matter to which it relates goes back to well before this country was taken into the 'war' by Blair.
If the DPP had not joined, what became, a conspiracy to defeat justice it is entirely possible that Blair (& his cronies) would have realised that he, too, is properly subject to the criminal law and things may have been quite different.
Over the years nobody has been interested in my 'story'.
Ah Well!!!

Ftao Sir Ian Blair, Met Police, 02-02-07
Political Control of the Judiciary

In 1998 the Lord Chancellor chaired a judicial committee of Her Majesty’s Privy Council. The council relied upon freshly filed evidence to recommend that the appeal be dismissed.
In more than ten years of legal proceedings the Foreign Office (the effective Respondent) had not presented any evidence.
The ‘fresh’ evidence was false resulting in prosecutions against those who had purportedly provided it. Those (private) prosecutions were ‘taken over and discontinued’ by the joint Respondent ( Gibraltar ’s AG).
The Metropolitan Police acquired evidence in support of the allegations but upon such investigation coming to the notice of government ministers it was stopped and filed as ‘No Crime’
The five members of the judicial committee are charged, inter alia, with conspiring to defeat justice and various others, including government ministers are charged with criminal conduct.
The DPP refused to interview the undersigned and/or be shown some evidence and indicated he would, in the Public Interest, ‘take-over and discontinue’ any private criminal prosecutions brought in London .

Tony Blair was not, at the time, included in those accused because his involvement could only be implied.
He and all others, including you, have been kept informed of the situation.
The PSNI have told you there should be an investigation.

You may like to re-consider this matter.

Sincerely David A Schiller

Got a great quote from

Got a great quote from Doctor Foxy, Liam Fox, speaking about Iran and its nonexistent bomb:

http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/uk_politics/6330353.stm

"Shadow defence secretary Liam Fox said: "We cannot give them the comfort of believing that there is any weakness in the western alliance or that there is a chance that they might be able to divide and rule."

Whit? So the Iranians will divide us and rule us, purely due to us not slavishly following the Washington line. Right, and monkeys might fly out of my butt!
