His Master's Voice
Bush on the radio talking about Iraq. I'll blog when he says something interesting

[zzz]
...
[God he's dumb]
...
troops arriving on time
...
[whiffles, repeats himself]
co-operation, co-ordination, conversation [con]
there will be violence [Bush perks up]
killing innocent men, women and children to achieve their objective [the terrorists or the US Army?]
It's disturbing to the Iraqi people. [yes, quite]
imagine what it would look like if we didn't [go in hard and blow the place up?]
sense of normalcy
Representatives debating disapproval.
He's 'dissatisfied' which is why he commissioned a report [and ignored it]
'listened to a lot of voices'
securing the Iraqi government stops the enemy following us here. [still on that one, is he?]
breathing space for the political stuff to work
$41bn budget in Iraq [tiny, that sounds, for the size and oil wealth, in fact it's under 250 days cost for the war to the US, so they'd be better off pulling out and just handing the cash out]
Benchmarks - $10bn for reconstruction [there was already that, but oops, it got given away]
Iraqi people to have a 'stake' in their oil revenue [not my reading of it]
To remind al-Maliki that he's doing it [sounds like Nouri will be getting a earful when his boys don't turn up]
[and Radio 5 cuts back to the studio]
And following on from Bush's
And following on from Bush's increasingly belligerent words about Iran, the attack on that country may well be imminent. This weekend a group of US Navy ships (I think the aircraft carrier Stennis) was due to visit Hong Kong but was cancelled a couple of weeks ago. My reading is that the carrier group was ordered to go directly to the Persian Gulf so as to be ready for action sooner rather than later.
'listened to a lot of
'listened to a lot of voices' In his head? or was it just the same one but there was such an echo, it sounded as if it was many?
Seriously, that's what he
Seriously, that's what he said. Following on from John Bolton's 'I'm a sad man' the day before, is the stress unintentionally forcing the neocons to speak the truth?
There is a resolution for an
There is a resolution for an impeachment of Bush and Cheney by the democrats.
Republicans wouldn't attend!
Here is an excerpt of the article:
"I find it appalling that every Republican member of the Committee refused to attend and listen to what our citizens have to say about what may well be the most important issues of our era -- the Iraq occupation and the refusal of the President and Vice President to obey the law. I guess they couldn't bear to hear ordinary people speaking truth to power".
"I guess they couldn't bear to hear ordinary people speaking truth to power"
Reminds us a war criminal closer to home, no?
