They don't get it at all.
They don't get it at all. It's the ELECTED ones who cause all the trouble; make the stupid laws, go to war, abuse democracy, fiddle their party funding. Elected politicians are the DANGER, not the solution.
 What a disapointment Benn
What a disapointment Benn Jnr must be to Benn Snr now.
I keep hoping that Junior is
I keep hoping that Junior is a trojan horse, but am coming to suspect that he is purely venal.
I would rather stick needles
I would rather stick needles in my eyes.

I suppose you can think of a better way to run the country than elected representatives, who would you have make all our decisions, the nation's cats?!

"I suppose you can think of a better way to run the country than elected representatives"
Easy. A actual democracy, as in the original Greek model, rather than a "representative" five-yearly menu shamocracy as today . Hold national referendae on everything. We have the technology. The very notion of referendum on whether we should , say, invade Iraq or renew Trident are media-tabooed of course but we'd not be in the mess we are in today if we held them.
Yeah, 'cos the greeks were
Yeah, 'cos the greeks were perfect in every way - I'd like to remind you, they had slaves!
And do you really think it is feasible to have a referendum on anything, think of the time constratints involved. Also, the relatively safe postal voting system was scammed, so what makes you think referendums won't be.
Do you really trust the people who have brought us 3 conscutive Labour terms to vote on important issues such as Trident - the reason we have representatives is because they are supposed to be (though aren't always) better informed than the proletariat.
Want more discussion, I have loads to say, but am now getting bored.
