This Is Too Bizarre, Even For Tony

in

Tony's job hunt continues apace, well it has to or he'll have some embarrassing questions at his local job centre.

So, he didn't get the World Bank job as he's not good enough at sums and isn't quite American enough.

He looks like not getting the EU Presidency, but there are hints at other positions.

Guess what's on the cards now, go on. In a stunning avoidance of reality, the White House and Israelis are pushing him to be a Special Envoy to the Middle East. Seriously.

The only person less qualified than Tony is the recently enobled Salman Rushdie.

"but there are hints at

"but there are hints at other positions"

Well that's novel.  Blair's standard position is with his arse in the air and Vaseline at the ready.

Candidate for the most

Candidate for the most unsuitable job for any person ever?

Rumsfeld is somewhat less

Rumsfeld is somewhat less qualitified than Rushdie, but he'll soon get his Medal of Freedom (sic) and slink back into the shadows.  Suggesting Blair for this position is sort of like Bush's appointment of Ashcroft to our Justice Department (sic again) after he lost his Senate seat to a dead man.

I think that there's a lot

I think that there's a lot of chutzpah in these rumours of job offers. The rumours are circulated to give the impression that Blair is a fine upstanding PM who is simply moving on to another job, and to dispel the impression that he has been removed and may end up in Court (or out on Dartmoor breaking rocks).

"Yo, Blair. You can go to

"Yo, Blair. You can go to the Middle East now."

I'd always assumed he'd be a

I'd always assumed he'd be a shoe-in for a sales or consultancy role with either BAE or the Carlyle Group....

Kinda makes you wonder what

Kinda makes you wonder what the perks of the job are - does it come with a car, health insurance, keys to the executive washroom.

But really what it`s all about is that Dubya`s chief henchgoon may lose his home-turf political job but da boss will keep his favourite biatch around, just for kicks; Blair will now be to Bush what the gunsel Wilmer was to Gutman in the Maltese Falcon. And if you know what a gunsel was in 1940`s America... uh huh.

I heard this on the radio

I heard this on the radio whilst driving yesterday and laughed so hard I almost caused a multi -vehicle pile up....
