Blair: I Was Right
I think we've all come to terms with Tony's utter belief in his decision to go to war in Iraq. He'll probably defend it to his dying breath. However it's still difficult to read or hear any of his pronouncements on his legacy. Remember that? The L word was the driving force behind the last year in office, where he was clinging on by his fingertips.
Various accounts have come out and I think pleading, begging and groveling were a more accurate description of his inner circle. What remains terrifying is how one man could ignore all the advice he was given and push the nation into war.
What's changed?
The Clunking Fist has also shown the same dogmatic tendency, with the briefing against Lord Malloch Brown, the duffing up of Admiral Lord West on the Prime Ministerial sofa and the happy slapping of the Boy Miliband shows that nothing has changed, nothing has improved.

“…the great masses of the people… more easily fall a victim to a big lie than to a little one, since they themselves lie in little things, but would be ashamed of lies that were too big. Such a falsehood will never enter their heads and they will not be able to believe in the possibility of such monstrous effrontery and infamous misrepresentation in others…â€Â

We have enough evidence to lock Bliar and Dubbya up for good it just seems that in fact there is no such thing as justice. "What's changed?" things have gotten a hell of a lot worse.
The Times article is
The Times article is interesting. It demonstrates the reality of the "special relationship". The USA is likely to wage illegal wars, is likely to use British facilities in doing so, Britain cannot do anything about it, so Britain is implicated in illegal acts whether or not it wants to. Time to be honest about the "special relationship" I would think.

Jonathan Powell tells the whole horrible truth in the Observer. It's an admission that lies were told and international law was broken, though there appears to be no sign of shame. How odd!

"
Members of the Celtic Trust slammed Dr John Reid as a "war criminal" at today's Celtic PLC AGM (19 November)."
"The trust represents supporters who are pushing for a people's representative on the board of directors rather than the continued dominance of what they refer to as a "narrow pool of candidates of business people and politicians from which the boards of all large football clubs are populated".
"They recommended that their members vote against Reid's appointment as the new Chairman of Celtic, and also voted against the club's major shareholder Dermott Desmond, over his opposition to a fan's representative on the board."
"Part of the reason given for the trust opposing Reid's appointment was "his position as Minister for Defence during the war in Iraq"...

I feel a very real sense of frustration when my colleagues ask me my opinion about Maddie, all I'm thinking about is the fact that the coalition is responsible for the offing of an innocent Iraqi at about one every two minutes 24/7 (do the math). I am also appalled by Darfur and Khartoum's relationship with how oil will provide it with hege-o'money. But imagine you are one of the most resource rich African nations who stood on the 'right' side of the cold war and was subsequently discarded (as a basket case) what would life be like now when the NGO's have given up? Let me to introduce you to the Democratic Republic of Congo, The World Continues to Look Away. Don’t. Our fabulous lack of priorities cannot be shown in a harsher light.
Again posting under the influence, so tired.
