Oh My God It's Tony Blair Again

Pass the sickbag, someone.
Tony Blair today said he wanted to devote the rest of his life to promoting understanding between the world's religions. The former prime minister recalled how his Christian faith gave him the strength to take tough decisions during his spell in Downing Street. In his most detailed description of the central role of faith during his decade as prime minister, Blair said religion inspired him even when he thought he had little political support.
Really, the man's lost it. What he's saying is that when, as PM, he proposed doing something ridiculously dumb (five times before breakfast, in the later years) he consoled himself that, because he had faith, it didn't matter than everyone thought his ideas were dumb. Guess what? His ideas were still dumb.
Of course, as Frank Zappa points out, if we're dumb, then God is dumb, although possibly not as dumb as Tony Blair. If Tony is now officially going to 'do God', perhaps we should all pray that God gets off his arse and endeavours to 'do Blair'.

I see he's still drivelling on about 'the threat of "terrorism fueled by religion"'. Clearly, the irony of this (as he's banging on about Christianity making him right) seems to have escaped him. To paraphrase Basil Fawlty, he started it!
