Once Again Rachel North Nails It

Here is an excellent summing up of why Obama should win from Rachel from North London:

Such is the power of an idea lifted up and brought to passionate life by golden, shining words. Great speeches are not hot air; they can be a righteous wind, blowing vessels on a new course. Words have power to change lives...

... I will be up all night tomorrow, watching and waiting. Hoping that the clean breeze I felt blowing two years ago out of Springfield gathers force and power until it is more than a righteous wind, but a mighty gale sailing this man, and the millions of ordinary men and women whom he has inspired to hope for change, to a safer shore, where the hard, slow work of rebuilding the dream of America can begin.

In the meantime, here's a banned interview with the arrogant and hubristic Bush, recorded in advance of his trip to Ireland in 2004.

That banned interview is

That banned interview is great.  I've had a copy in my youtube favorites since it first emerged.  The sheer arrogance of Bush is just astounding.

At the polls today, I have never seen such a large turnout.  And, this is after some very heavy early voting in the past few weeks.  This is pretty exciting!

Sad that hardly anyone on

Sad that hardly anyone on this side of the pond saw it ...

Voted this morning in Manhattan - usually takes 5 minutes, but I waited more than 30.

Oh, and sorry we broke the world.  And your economy. We'll try and clean it up - honest.

Thank you for the

Obama is President Elect.

Wow!

I am glad to see Obama win,

I am glad to see Obama win, although I doubt that very much will change. Ideas and the mind can switch a person's perception from bleak to exhiliration, but when the fervor has died down, look around and very little will have changed.

There will still be little credit, slowing economy, rising unemployment and foreclosures/repossession.

In our minds things can change at the snap of our fingers. In the tangible real world, it takes time.

Obama is an AIPAC puppet.

Obama is an AIPAC puppet. Research he's Chief of Staff and V.P. to verify for yourselves.

Now that Obama has won, the

Now that Obama has won, the world would be keen to see what changes he'll implement. I'm optimistic though. After all, his win is already a first historic change. But whether for the better or worse, we'll have to keep our fingers crossed for now...
