London Bombs - No Public Inquiry

So an inquiry will "already tell us what we know" will it? More likely the so-called "narrative of what happened" will tell us only what PM Bliar and Plod Bliar want us to know and be full of the usual inaccuracies, half-truths and lies.

I recently read a blog post (sorry can't remember the blogger in question) which threw real doubt on the accuracy of some of the facts which are already supposed to be out there in the public domain and which presumably will be regurgitated in the *narrative*. We are told that the bombers supposedly took either the 7:40 a.m. or 7:48 a.m. train from Luton to Kings Cross. However, on 7 July the earlier train was cancelled and the later one did not arrive at Kings Cross until 2 minutes after two of the tube trains on which the bombs exploded had already left the station. Because of this he expressed some doubts over the veracity of the date/time stamp on the photograph showing the alleged bombers entering Luton Station. His point being that the dead-tree press had not challenged any of these *facts*, and as far as I can tell they go unchallenged by them to this day. It could also throw into doubt the supposed identity of the alleged bombers?

Now this may be pure conspiracy theory bullshit (and I haven't personally checked out his facts). However, I think the suggested *narrative* is likely to be riddled with these type of debatable *facts*. Presumably any evidence to an Independent Public Enquiry will be given under oath and therefore there is potential redress against anyone found to be lying. There MUST be an enquiry which is truly independent and does not end up with the whitewashed bullshit we got with Butler and Hutton.

Saw this last night on BBC World ... even over here, pummeled though we are by Bu$hCo propaganda, it's easy to see this is a desperate effort to cover up.

So, who's the "us" and "we" they're talking about here? Tony-the-liar Blair & Co? Damn right it is. The same crew who told us they "knew" Saddam Hussein had weapons of mass destruction. And that they could be deployed against us - within 45 minutes. The same crew that "knew" about the none existant "yellow cake". I could go on, but I won't - not here, nor not right now.

But, boy, have I got news for them. There's another "us" and there's another "we" - and together they make up "the public".

And we/us - the British public - both demand and deserve a public enquiry. It's in the public interest to have one. And by logical extension, it's in the national interest. It's also in the interest of national security - though not this particular political crew's personal, very vested interests.

Of course, they know all this only too well. So they don't give a damn about a legitimate public enquiry. The fact is that they'll do all in their damned power to prevent one. Well, damn them, I [and many others] say. Damn them all to hell, along with the perpetrators of the bombings. Because, in their own particular way they are patently, equally perverse.

Yes, that's the one. Pretty heavy stuff IF it's true? I say "IF" because I haven't seen this fuelling any real fires since the original post. Now it doesn't surprise me that the dead-tree press haven't taken it up because they tend to be so slapdash in their approach to these stories. However, I haven't seen it fuelling the blogosphere either which given the ire that so many bloggers have, including your great site, towards the current maladministration does come as a surprise.

IF it is true, then as I said in my earlier post, the so-called *narrative* might as well be written by Enid Blyton for all the *truth* it will tell us. Only a truly Independent Public Enquiry will do.

Not having a public enquiry also feeds the conspiracy theorists as well. Why can't we have questions answered? Why do we just have to shut up and swallow the narrative? Time to kick off...

A cursory glance at the world of blogs seems to suggest that, with the caveat of a very few exceptions, the British blog world is engaged in a bunch of self-congratulatory, backslapping nonsense involving at least one, or all, of the following goals:

- Trying to get listed in the MSM to bump up advertising revenue
- Trying to win an award from the MSM to bump up advertising revenue
- Trying to land writing jobs with the MSM to reduce reliance on advertising revenue

Those that aren't doing any of the above are arguing the toss about what the point of blogging is and none of the above are challenging anything very much.

Maybe it doesn't matter that the officially confirmed Thameslink and underground train times from the day are now in the public domain.

Maybe it doesn't matter that July 7th blue-light operatives fear disciplinary action if they dare to speak about their experiences that day.

Maybe it doesn't matter the Radio 5 breakfast show on July 7th announced the Metropolitan Police had confirmed three bus explosions.

Maybe it doesn't matter whether the Number 30 bus was going from Hackney Wick to Marble Arch or Marble Arch to Hackney Wick before it was diverted into Tavistock Square and maybe reports that buses were used to ferry around the injured don't matter either.

Maybe it doesn't matter that a woman who reported a second, controlled explosion in Tavistock Square was found dead days after giving her report of a second explosion in Tavistock Square and maybe it doesn't matter that the BMA refuse to comment.

Maybe it doesn't matter that BBC News 24 was, at 16:51 on July 7th, still reporting seven explosions across London on the seventh day of the seventh month.

Maybe it doesn't even matter that a much hyped, much talked about, MSM-published survivor account puts the time of the Piccadilly Line bomb as 0856 - precisely the same time originally reported by the Metropolitan Police - some six minutes after we are now told that simultaneous explosions occurred on the trains at 0850.

Maybe none of this matters at all and it is too much to expect that anyone in the blog world should let the odd fact, or glaring discrepancy, get in the way of some earnest navel gazing and a bit of writing work for the MSM.

It certainly seems to be that way and it is fucking unforgiveable.
