We have been kindly invited to attend The 2nd Al Jazeera Forum: Defending Freedom, Defining Responsibility in Doha, Qatar from January 31st – February 2nd, 2006. We will be staying on after the event for follow up work.
There are some serious and interesting issues being debated at this forum, including topics such as:
- The World Media: Building Bridges of Understanding or Creating Divisions?
- Journalism at the Crossroads: Who Defines Professional Ethics?
- The New Media: Bloggers and Participatory Journalism
- Challenges to News Organizations in the 21st Century
- The Media and Power: Freedom of Expression and Political Manipulation
- Al Jazeera in the Mirror
We hope to be blogging from the conference and posting as many presentations as we can. We are also hoping to record some interviews for the site.
If any of our readers are in Doha, we would like to meet up with you. Please email quarsan at blairwatch.
