So, it is being widely reported Gus O'Donnell's investigation, when it reports tomorrow will clear Tessa Jowell of any wrongdoing, or at least breaching the Ministerial Code.
It takes me right back to the last days of Tory sleaze - with Lord Butler clearing Jonathan Aitken...
So keen are they to back Tessa, that some considerate soul leaked the findings a day early, presumably to give Tessa the benefit of Thursday's headlines proclaiming her innocence as a backdrop to release of the report on Thursday, rather than having the inconvenience of waiting untill Friday morning for the deadwood press.
We don't know who leaked, Number 10, the Jowell/Mills camp, the investigation team or Gus O'Donnell himself? It doesn't matter, they have destroyed any credibility this investigation might have had.
Nice to see the spin merchants are still as shameless and self serving as ever.
It looks like they will have their work cut out though, and any relief Gus and his team have provided for Tessa will be temporary....

Am I alone in being shocked at the presumption of these people?
Is ennoblement automatic (for self serving MPs)?
Also, it appears to make a lie of Jowell's oft-stated claim that their finances were completely separate!
