Clarke Forced In Front Of Parliament

After promising a statement at an unspecified later date, Clarke has finally been forced to give a statement to parliament on Wednesday, just after PMQ. It will be interesting to see if Blair can beat the '5 metre sprint out of the chamber' record he set last week.

This shows the weakness of New Labour at the moment as they would have desperately wanted to hold off a statement untill after Thursday's elections, as their political advantage far outweighs public safety or the right of an elected parliament to know what's going on.
